Trinamool MP Claims "Victim of Vengeance" after Meeting Anubrata Mondal in Tihar Jail

Trinamool Congress MP Dola Sen and Asit Mal recently had an extensive discussion with Anubrata Mondal and his daughter Sukanya at Tihar Jail, leading to allegations of political retaliation by the center. The meeting, which aimed to demonstrate the party's support for Anubrata, has garnered criticism from the Left and the BJP.

According to Dola Sen, Anubrata and Sukanya are in good health. She expressed her concern for Sukanya, stating that she had been detained and arrested to exert pressure on her father. Sen claimed that Anubrata and Sukanya are victims of political vengeance by the central government.

The meeting between Trinamool MPs and Anubrata has drawn different reactions from political parties. Rahul Sinha, a BJP leader, accused Trinamool of glorifying Anubrata, while Sujan Chakraborty, a left-wing leader, expressed that Anubrata holds valuable information that the party seeks to protect.

In a separate development, Sukanya Mondal's bail plea was denied by Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court in connection with a money laundering charge related to a multi-crore cattle smuggling case. The court presided over by Special Judge Raghubeer Singh, rejected the bail application, citing the involvement of another accused, Tanya Sanyal, who had been granted bail despite being charged by the CBI and ED.

Sukanya, who is alleged to have played a role in the money trail and modus operandi of the crime, works as a government teacher in West Bengal. Investigations have revealed multiple bank accounts and companies associated with her, which have reportedly received a substantial amount of embezzled funds. Anubrata, who is the head of the Trinamool Congress party in Birbhum district, West Bengal, and is believed to be a close associate of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was previously detained by the CBI in connection with the same case.

These recent developments have further intensified the ongoing political saga surrounding the cattle smuggling case. While the Trinamool Congress continues to assert that the actions against Anubrata and Sukanya are politically motivated, the opposition parties, including the BJP and the Left, view the meeting and subsequent claims as an attempt to protect crucial information.

As the legal proceedings unfold, it remains to be seen how this case will impact the political landscape and the relationships between the different parties involved. The media and public will closely follow the developments, seeking transparency and accountability in this high-profile case.
